A Passion for Jewelry

I have been working in the jewelry industry for more than 20 years.  I began as a seasonal gift wrapper at Birks. From there, I worked my way up through sales and store leadership.  I went to school to become a licensed gemologist and entered the wholesale side of the business, where I supplied diamonds and jewelry to many of Canada’s top retailers.

My story, however, does not begin with my first job. It begins with my mother who along with her friends, has an affinity for beautiful jewelry. The jewelry store was like their “Joy Luck Club”, where they would meet, socialize, and together select the perfect piece for every occasion hoping to one day have them all.  

My mother’s love for jewelry is where my passion developed and what motivated me to become a part of the world of creating joy through making jewelry.

However, I have always felt that jewelry, and the pleasure that comes with it, needs to be more accessible, so that everyone can feel the excitement of sharing that perfect piece with those they love. This is the true spirit behind Kin Diamond Design Lab and my (Kin)losophy.
